Monitor cutting off the display with NextcloudPI v1.55.4 on RaspberryPi 5... Any fix?

I have made some research through Google and ChatGPT and I am not really getting anywhere with this issue.

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • 30.0.5.1 (NextcloudPI v1.55.4 )
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • OS Armbian-unofficial 24.8.2 Bookworm \l . 6.6.45-current-bcm2712 (aarch64)
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • Always
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
    • AIO
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • no

Summary of the issue you are facing:

When I connect to my NextcloudPI Raspberry Pi 5 through HDMI part of the screen is cut off by the screen (old Samsung 245T pc screen).

Do we have a way to address this? Reason why I am trying to make this work is because I need to do some network related work on the NextcloudPi and if I ever get disconnected I want to be able to work my way out of the mess by connecting physically to the device.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Connect to the device using an HDMI cable

No clue, but some hints:

  • video/hdmi configure I would start at raspi docu
  • then take a look at armbian - try armbian-config
  • breaking ssh connections can get less painfull using tmux multiplexer
  • network configuring on armbian - keep netplan in mind
  • if you want wlan, it is a firmware thing you find some notes on armbian forum
  • last issue on ncp github seems to have a nice workaround
    Good luck.

This is not nextcloud realted but Raspberry Pi related.

It was happen even many years ago with my old Raspi 1 and Raspi 2. I don’t use those anymore and honestly don’t remember the solution. But solution i fond i fond with google and was Raspberry’s OS relate to be found in that config files. So do more google search.
