Migration owncloud to nextcloud not so easy after all

According to the migration guide, upgrading owncloud to nextcloud looked very straightforward and easy. However, it’s not the case. First the downloading fails, but managed to solve this with a suggestion this forum. Next upgrade fails with the following message: Exception: Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are unsupported.

So far I have not been able to find a solution for this. If anyway figured out how to fix this, please let me know how.

The best way to start is always to use the search function of this forum, which yo can find in the upper right corner of the screen.

Migration from owncloud 10.3.0 to Nextcloud

Hello, I have a few problems with migrating from owncloud 10.3.0: I tried to follow this guide: https://nextcloud.com/migration/, but got this error message after running the updater and going to the main site: Exception: Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are unsupported The updater tried to install nextcloud 12.0.12. This also has the problem that nextcloud 12 does not support php 7.3, although I could move it to a lower php version temporary for the upgrade. Is there…

hahaha, usually a good start indeed. Did come across DB one via google, but not how they got to the point of getting the DB error. Modifying the updater provided the missing step indeed.

Maybe good if a footnote was added to the migration tool as it looks like to be a known issue.
