Migrate from NC 10 to 12 (new Server)

hi,

i run an NC Server with the following specs:

Nextcloud version (eg, 10.0.2):10.0.2
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 16.04): 14.04
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): 2.4.7
PHP version (eg, 5.6): 5.5.9

Now i will migrate the files to a new NC 12 Server. How does it works?

Can anybody help?

You can’t directly go from NC 10 to NC 12. You need to upgrade and then migrate to the new server, or migrate the current version and then upgrade to NC 12. The latter is probably better as you still keep the original server (on top of the backup).

And go first to NC 10.0.5 -> 11.0.3 -> 12.0.0 (or wait two week for 12.0.1)

Is 12 very buggy?

You can check the bug tracker if there are things which you concerns (https://github.com/nextcloud/server/milestone/25). In general, I have the impression that the 12 release is quite good. Other point are 3rd-party apps but most should be ready for NC 12 (you can see on apps.nextcloud.com which app is available. If have apps which are very important for you and a bit “exotic” (not calendar or contacts) you might want to check these).
