We are assessing moving from Google Workspace to NextCloud and a bit confused about the migration process, as it seems most of the discussion about using the Google Migration Tool is for individual users. We have about 20 users, and want to migrate mail, calendar, contacts and files.
These are what I understand and am happy to be proven wrong:
- The Google Workspace Migrate Tool cannot be used at the Admin level to import all user data. I am not sure if admin can enter the API details and then each user has to trigger their own import, or if that is even possible, but it doesn’t look like Admin can do the full migration. I don’t see a better tool for that.
- The best way to copy folders and files is probably manually. We use shared drives in Google, whcih I don’t thing are included in the Migration Tool. I think that a phased Google Takeout is the best way to go and reset the permissions manually. We have about 2TB data.
Can anyone help who has experience with migrating multiple users?
