After upgrading the Nextcloud Talk mobile application to version 24, the microphone stopped working during audio and video calls.
Other participants cannot hear the user at all, although the microphone permission is granted and the microphone works correctly in all other applications on the same device.
The problem started immediately after updating to Talk v24. Before the update, calls worked normally.
Environment
Nextcloud Server: 34.x
Nextcloud Talk app: 24.x
iOS devices (multiple iPhones tested)
HTTPS connection
TURN/STUN configured and working
Steps to reproduce
Open Nextcloud Talk on iPhone.
Join or start an audio/video call.
Speak into the microphone.
Expected behavior
Other participants should hear the user’s voice.
Actual behavior
The microphone appears to be active, but no audio is transmitted. Other participants cannot hear the user.
Troubleshooting performed
Verified microphone permissions are enabled.
Reinstalled the Talk application.
Tested on multiple iPhones.
Tested on different networks (Wi-Fi and mobile data).
Verified that the microphone works correctly in other applications.
The issue occurs consistently after upgrading to Talk version 24.
Additional information
The problem affects multiple devices and appears to be related to the Talk mobile application update rather than device permissions or server configuration.
I will be eagerly awaiting a resolution to this issue. I am ready to provide any additional information, logs, screenshots, or perform any tests that may help with the investigation. Please let me know if there is anything else you need from my side.
Thank you very much for your quick and professional response to my report.
I tested the issue on two different Nextcloud instances: Nextcloud Hub 9 (30.0.5) and Nextcloud Hub 26 Winter (33.0.2). The problem has been resolved on both instances after installing the new version of the iOS application.
Thank you once again for your excellent support. It is a pleasure working with you.
