I don’t understand the point of the “Mark as done” button on Decks.
On Trello, I can pick a column to move a card to. Usually we have “To do”, “Done”, “Review” etc.
On NC Deck we have a Mark as done button that changes the status of the card, but does not move it. This does not seem to be how Kanban boards should work.
Yes, that’s right, but it’s not “expected behaviour” for any other Kanban Board I know (and I have tried a lot of them!)
I’m trying to understand the rationale behind the decision, and see what I’m missing.
I’d expect the “Mark as done” button to list all the column headings, and allow the user to pick the col they want to move it to.
Deck integrates in Nextcloud Tasks. And mark as done will reflect the status in tasks. So if you click that the task will be gone in Tasks. On never Deck after you pushed the mark as done a button will appear where you can archive the card.
Right, that’s interesting. But it doesn’t feel like expected Kanban behaviour. I’d like to be able to choose another column to move the card to. I know I can drag it.
To me the “Mark as done” button feels odd, and gets in the way quite a lot, expecially on mobile. I’ll have a think.
Could be a feature request with a dropdown of all the columns nextc to the mark as done button. (I dont user the mobile app or mobile browser only browser on desktop)
How about a feature to select a column as the “done” column, so that when you move an item to that column NC will automatically “mark as done” the card? On the other hand, when something else hits the “mark as done”, such as tasks, the item will be moved to the configured column.
This way you dont have an additional action during the transition (dropdown to select column) , it is more in line with expected kanban way of working and it integrates with all other facilities in NC (like actions).
