Main Menu Navigation System

Hey everyone!

I shall apologize in advance incase I do not word this correctly… Do not mean to come across as unappreciative, rude or anything along those lines.

I do understand how much effort it takes and there are far more important items to take care of first, although if I may speak out loud, I believe this is something that is important and part of the foundation of software…

When we add many apps, the menu just expands and appends to the end… when we have smaller browsers or on mobile we see the “…” at the end to be able to see the remaining apps… it feels like the navigation is not a relevant feature/function…

What I am wondering is, is it difficult to implement Simon Vielle’s menu system into the core so it would always work with each future update?

Once again, I apologize if I came across disrespectful and for writing 10 series novel for something I probably could have just said could we please put Simon’s menu system concept into the core code…

Thank you for taking the time to read… I appreciate you all…

I think you think about Custom menu. Actually it works till Nextlcoud 29.

In the case of dependencies on apps, you should perhaps wait a little with updates. Even if Nextcoud 30.0.0 is stable, it is still the .0 version. A little waiting may help here.

I agree that it would be nice if you could do this directly in the personal or global settings. You could create an issue for this here. Maybe a point for Nextcloud design team.

The symbols can be moved as a temporary solution. Any user can do this at the button of Appearance and accessibility settings https://cloud.server.tld/index.php/settings/user/theming.
