Main dialog not showing on Ubuntu 24.04

I’m using Ubuntu 24.04 (Ubuntu desktop with Wyland) with version 34.0.2 of the desktop client. An icon appears in the system tray and clicking on this icon shows a drop down menu that include the accounts I have each with a right chevron after each account. However clicking on any of these entries in the drop down does nothing. I was expecting the main dialog to appear and show a live feed of files created/deleted/changed etc.

Also, when using the .deb package, the ‘add account’ option cause the client to exit although this does work with the appimage package.

Running from the terminal doesn’t show any error messages.

Is there a way around this issue? What can I do to help debug it? Should I log this as a bug?

All help much appreciated.

I’ll add something that I just noticed too. I changed some local files and as it should, NC started to replicate them to the NC server. However, while that was going on, the icon showed a warning (brown triangle with an exclamation point) until the sync was completed. Then it returned to normal.

So it isn’t using the rotating (synching…) icon any longer. No biggie but this may be perceived as a problem when it isn’t, by users not expecting this.
