MacOS client 33.0.0 issue - "This folder requires re-approval"

On the new MacOS client I get the following error:

Some files couldn’t be synced. See below for errors.

File sync doesn’t seem to be working, but the activity feed is updated with activity from other clients.

Under “Classic sync” for the connection I get a message that “This folder requires access re-approval. Click here to grant access.”. When I click there I get a file picker window and I’m not sure what do pick.

I can now get my files in Virtual Folders, which is fantastic! I’d like to thank the devs for this improvement. I just need to sync the work I’ve done locally since updating, and I can kill the classic sync. How can I re-approve the access?

I gave up and deleted the sync connection. Tried to re-add it, but it doesn’t work, says the folder is already in use for a sync connection. So I’ll solve it by rsyncing the files to the new virtual files area.

Ok, you were faster than I discovered this thread. :slightly_smiling_face: Anyway, for the record: please see the related GitHub issue here:

As you have found out, this problem does not exist for newly set up synchronization folders (the access is granted implicitly during the configuration) or the file provider extension (which always has been sandboxed already as required by Apple).
