macOS - Change Default Virtual Files Folder Directory

Hi,

Nextcloud clientVersion: 3.13.2git (build 24287)
Nextcloud Hub 8 (v29.0.3)
TrueNAS Scale using default truenas nextcloud app.

I’ve just installed the desktop macOS version (Sonama v14.5), and I want to use the virtual files feature. I see it defaults to this location users/xyz/Library/CloudStorage/Nextcloud-nextcloudaccountnamehere.

I don’t see any option in the settings to change the default location of this folder. I’ve opened the nextcloud.cfg, and besides “overrideLocalDir” key, that didn’t seem to override it.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Cheers!

I was going through github for this thread, so it seems that the release of the VFS feature was planned but not finally activated for everybody because of some issues:

Thank you for sharing this thread.

I couldn’t find any similar question to mine, possibly because it’s a new feature and the option to change directories isn’t available yet.

It might be worth asking in that thread as well. Thank you again for sharing.

Cheers!

Yes, it is not generally enabled yet. But you have a few links to the github issues, so you can follow the status. There are also links to the clients with the feature enabled. However, since they since see issues, you should consider this only for testing purposes.

Now that MacOS Virtual Files has been generally released, is there an option to change the default directory?
