The issue you are facing: Set up Calendar on iPad - authenticated no problem.
Then tried to set up Contacts on same iPad but failed. For troubleshooting reasons I deleted the Calendar account and went through the whole process again through the Contacts section of the IOS but again failed.
I entered the same details back into the Calendar section of the IOS but have not since deleting the account been able to connect again - getting the ‘account verification failed’ message each time.
Is there something I missed when deleting the account from the iPad?
Do I need to remove some account details from the Database?

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Yes

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Add CalDAV account details on iPad
  2. Delete account from iPad
  3. Re-enter CalDAV account details again
