Hi there,
I use the Mac OS X client version 2.6.5, linked to five different instances.
I noticed that it tends to hog a large amount of RAM, north of 4GiB just sitting there. There are a few errors returned by the servers (different versions), but no sync ongoing.
Where should I start to tackle this issue?
Since ages the client has log files.
Maybe you find something interesting in it.

btw. your version is very, very old and unsupported. Update would be an improvement.
This is the latest compatible version on Mac OS X 10.15.

Not much to see, except that it’s still gobbling close to 2GiB RAM.
…which, by the way, is unsupported since November 2022.

It’s closed, but since version 2.6.5 for Mac OS X is still officially available, it might make sense to reopen it by adding a comment.
I just was a bit too lazy to patch and install Monterey yet.

Monterey is unsupported as well by now, so I strongly recommend upgrading at least to Ventura, which still gets security updates.
Anyway, with Monterey, even though it’s no longer supported by Apple, you could at least use a current version of the Nextcloud client.
This is not so easy with Apple if the computers are no longer supported.
My good iMac is now also out after 8 years.

Yeah, but the answer from @cubtyus doesn’t suggest that this was the problem.
And yes, when Apple HW is no longer supported, there are apparently some hacky ways to upgrade to newer MacOS versions. I’m not really familiar with them, but in case they don’t work, there’s of course always the option of installing Linux, which should work pretty well on most x86 Macs
Either way, for security reasons it is obviously not a good idea to continue using old, unsupported operating system versions, so I won’t be able to refrain from at least adding a small side note in such cases.
Oh, and this of course also applies to Windows or Linux users who are still using old, unsupported versions.
