Looking for OpenLDAP proxy caching sample configuration

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a documentation that explains how to set up a local OpenLDAP server as a proxy cache.

This idea comes from the “Nextcloud deployment recommandations” which says that over 5000 users, you are supposed to install a local OpenLDAP instance on each of your nexcloud node in order to speed up connexion and search requests…

I found a guide on owncloud website ([https://doc.owncloud.org/server/10.0/admin_manual/configuration/ldap/ldap_proxy_cache_server_setup.html]) but it seems outdated, and I am, having a hard time finding the proper slapd config to make sure everything that can be cached is properly cached…

Thanks for your help!

As far as I know, there is no more detailed official documentation about that. Perhaps someone is running such a setup and posted it on his blog or something. Would be great if a community user with such a setup would share such information (the ldap issues are often not answered: https://help.nextcloud.com/tags/ldap).

If you have a commercial background, you could consider enterprise support, they have a lot of experience running larger installations.
