Looking to hire Onsite IT Systems Admin (Linux & Nextcloud)
Location: Orange County, CA (Onsite)
About the Role: We are an office looking for a reliable, onsite IT Technician to manage our local server environment. Our infrastructure is built on Ubuntu and Nextcloud, and we need a specialist who can ensure our data is secure, our systems are maintained, and our communication tools are seamless.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:

Nextcloud Management: Configure and optimize Nextcloud Talk for reliable video conferencing, including setting up TURN/STUN servers (e.g., Coturn) to bypass office firewalls.

Server Maintenance & Backups: Perform regular updates, security patching, and troubleshooting for our Ubuntu server environment and manage automated, encrypted database backups.

Backup Systems: Implement and manage automated, encrypted database and server backups to ensure 100% data recovery capability.

Office Tech Support: Provide onsite troubleshooting for local networking, wifi issues, hardware issues, and general tech support for our staff.

Compliance: Ensure all IT activities, especially data storage and backups, adhere to HIPAA Regulations for patient privacy.
Required Skills:

OS: Expert-level knowledge of Ubuntu Server administration.

SSH/Reverse Proxy/Tailscale

Software: Deep experience with Nextcloud (installation, apps, and configuration).

Networking: Proficiency in configuring firewalls (UFW), SSL certificates (Let’s Encrypt), and STUN/TURN protocols for WebRTC.

Security: Strong understanding of server hardening and secure backup methodologies.
Bonus Skills:
- Mandarin: Fluency
