Local offline maps

Hi,

Is it possible to tell the Maps app to use local copies of OSM maps for the base maps if Internet access isn’t available? Can I just create a new map folder under ‘My Maps’ and copy a bunch of .pbf maps into it, then switch to that map folder? I have a Raspberry Pi Nextcloud server that I’d like to use when I’m at a remote cabin with a bunch friends for a backpacking trip, and we’d like to upload and share pictures from our cell phones.

Hello, to avoid a problem like with the last provider cutting access suddenly…, it would be great to store maps offline to be independent of outside changes. It would also follow the philosophy of Nextcloud itself, meaning to host everything by oneself without dependence on some cloud service. To save space it would be nice to be able to download only maps of certain countries/continents. If additional maps should be installed, they could be downloaded in the web interface/placed manually.

Optimize loading of tiles from OSM?

Hello, sometimes the map tiles are loaded really slow which results in white …spots or blurred squares on the map. I don't have this problem with GpxPod/Motion/Phonetrack also build by @eneiluj on the same server. I can see several GET requests to different tile servers in the browser console and it takes a long time (more than a minute at times) to get them from the server. Is there anything that can be done to speed up the loading time of the tiles? I don't think it is a problem with the connection speed because I tried it on an internet connection with up to a gigabit.
