Live Index: What is the difference between "Database | Semaphore"?

can please somebody explain the difference between

  • Live Index Using Database
  • Live Index Using Semaphore

And what is the better option and which kind of database is used?

Database use MySQL, and Semaphore is too buggy when moving/uploading a lot of files so it will be remove in a future release.
