JTX vs Deck and Android widget

Not an issue, more a general question for a personnal use case. I hope some people will have some suggestions…

So, I’m using JTX app and widget for my tasks sync on Android and I’ve tested the Deck app and widget on Android too.

What I really like about the JTX widget (in addition to the awsome customization options) is that you can actually interact directly on the widget and just tick a box when a task is done.

With the Deck app, clicking the widget actually opens the app, and then you can select the account, and then edit the card, and then… Far too many steps… Sorry…

I have ADHD which means my brain is just too much of a wild horse, I need very specific and efficient ways to quickly see what my next focus is/should be, and be able to jump from one task to the other quickly.

I’ve read here and there that for now, the Deck elements are read only although visible through CalDav sync because of some very specific configuration requirements. OK.

I (almost) could go either way : either being able to update Deck elements in JTX, or being able to update Deck cards / tasks from the widget with a quick check box so I don’t have to actually open the app and edit the card.

Now, I could just continue to use JTX and tasks, the thing is you can assign Deck cards, but not tasks (or is there a way ?), so when/if volunteers take responsability for a task, they can’t assign it to themselves, meaning that different volunteers may work on the same task without knowing it…

We could use tags with volunteers names (which shows as categories in JTX), but that’s a workaround with many possible hiccups (the first one being a volunteer name created multiple time because it was mispelled or not seen in the list of tags, etc…)

So I’m guessing it could go at least one of 3 ways :

The ability to update Deck cards and tasks in JTX the same way as for regular task (and I know the underlying codes are different, I’m not saying it’s easy, just wondering if this can/could be done at some point).

Or, the ability to assign tasks

Or, a much more ‘mature’ Deck app widget with the ability to group tasks by multiple criteria (like in JTX), and check tasks when done, directly on the widget (ie without having to open the app and edit the card).

Not sure what to do, where to go next… I know the ability to have write capabilities to the Deck tasks have been requested for JTX, but I coudn’t find anything for the Deck app widget on android. I’m not really a technical person, so I’ve never opened a feature request, and honestly, i don’t know if it’s the right route to take…

Any advises, or tips/tricks I’ve missed playing with JTX app and widget and/or Deck app and widget ?
