Is it possible to have private conversation with a federated account?

We’ve just upgraded to NC 30 and enabled the “federated chat” beta feature. We can have group conversation with accounts belonging to other NC instances, but we are not able to create a private conversation with them. Is it possible to enable this feature, or it’s planned to add it in a future major release?

Thanks, I’ve just thumbed up the feature request and subscribed to the GH issue. Really hoping to see this feature coming to the 30 branch!
