IOS Mobile app re-check all pictures

,

Hi,

I found that in the past sometimes the auto uploade missed some pictures. That case how I can re-check the uploded pictures? Ehat happaned if I turn off and after turn in the auto uploade feature with all picture option? this will be duplicate my photos? I use latest IOS app with the latest AIO NC

For me it often helps to just start the Nextcloud app (when having a good internet connection), then after a few minutes, it detects file to be uploaded.

I just had to reset everything end of August this year, I don’t know why (before it has been working for 2 years).

For this unfortunetly not fix the missed ones.

Somebody know what happen if I choose again the camera roll full upload? this duplicate the pictures or not?

Someone could help to me? I wanted to my backup completely synchronized.

I had the exact same problem. It happens locally, so having a good internet connection isn’t the issue.

Doing it the clean way, you start a new folder, but then it uploads everything. For an existing folder, someone would need to test or read the code or wait for a developer to answer this.

Regarding the autoupload function, I found two topics on the bug tracker, perhaps you find some information there. Perhaps there is an easy way to identify missing pictures online so it can just upload the missing ones.

HI @Isti6 - did you work out what happens?

I am in the same situation - missed photos. They are scattered all over - a couple every now and again, so it is hard to manually upload them. About a few hundred missed out of 6,000 photos/videos in the past 6 months that I have checked.

I too would like to know what happens if I stop the Photo Auto Upload, then start it again - using the same Nextcloud user/account.

Options is might do are:

  1. Upload everything again, and overwrite the existing assets. Other than taking a long time for network transfer, this might be OK. Although with that many uploads, I would worry it may fail and miss some again anyway!

  2. There MIGHT be a popup dialogue that says “conflict detected”, and lists all the files that are already uploaded, and prompts what to do. This is what happens if you manually try and re-upload a bunch of photos - if they already exist, it asks if you want to overwrite (keep new), only upload the new ones (keep existing), or cancel the upload. This would be ideal - I would then choose to “keep existing” which would be much less network time to only upload the missing ones.

  3. Upload and store duplicate assets. This would be terrible! I don’t know how or why it would do this, but the impact of it happening makes me very worried about trying it just in case…

Has anyone tried this? Any developers can confirm what will happen?

If only there was an easier way to select to upload photos/videos in the iOS app- like “select all date X” or “select all month X” - that way I can methodically work my way through a re-upload, knowing that I get the Conflict Detected prompt which handles things nicely!
