Integration Nextcloud Maps and Nextcloud Maps Geofavorites Android app

Nextcloud Maps looks great, and I would love to properly start using it.

Like many, I would like to

  1. save favorite places with my (Android) phone, and to
  2. see (and preferably easily search) these favorite places on my Android phone.
  3. bulk import existing favorites, as I’m shifting from another system.

Step 1 and 2 are possible with the Nextcloud Maps Geofavorites Android app.

Step 3 is possible in Nextcloud Maps, but so far I have only been able to make this work in a “custom map”. Custom maps are subfolders inside the app’s base folder /Maps. These subfolders then contain the constitutive files like .index.maps and .favorites.json. I can easily create and edit the .favorites.json there.

The problem is, however that Nextcloud Maps Geofavorites Android app only shows the favorites of the default map, and there is no possibility to switch to any new custom map.

The most elegant solution would be for Nextcloud Maps Geofavorites Android app to add the option to pick another custom map. But I’m not sure if the developer/maintainer is available enough…

Another option for me would to figure out where Nextcloud Maps stores the default .favorites.json, so I can edit that file directly. Has anyone figured this out?
