Impossible to delete a folder

Hello, I have this strange problem:
a normal user made a couple of folders and shared them with a group of users. Then, she copied some folders inside the 1st folder (the folders came from her PC). For an error she copied wrongly one of these folders also on the 2nd folder. Then, she tried to delete this folder but was not able to do it. Then she unshared the folder but also in this case she was unable to delete the folder. I checked that it is possible to delete other folders she did not share previously and makind a new folder, share it, put somefiles inside then is not possible to delete them with or without unshare them.
Our instance of nextcloud was installed using Softacoulous and it is hosted in shared host server at ifastnet.com.
Every help will be very appreciated.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

Hi maggiordomo-lva,

I can’t help you out directly, but I noticed a similar thread the other day. Maybe @msg_01’s workoround provides you with a solution as well.

As a suggestion: have a look at your post and notice how much text there is. Did you read or write it? People read posts on these forums in their free time and volunteer to help where they can. If you make it easy for them, there is a higher chance of getting help!

Well, the main problem is that this installation is on a shared web server hosted on a service provider. I can say it is a NGINX server with some plugins (not added by me) the most useful for me permits to use .htaccess files in NGINX but I really do not know so much about the details of the server configuration and to apply some of the suggestions I read. I tried also to update to the last nextcloud release but the process stopped and did not complete, the only way to solve was to delete and reinstall nextcloud.

Unfortunately you didn’t provide much to go on.

First, what version of Nextcloud Server is this?

And, if the Desktop client is involved, what version?

How/where is the deleting occuring? Via the web UI? Via the desktop client?

Then, she tried to delete this folder but was not able to do it.

What, precisely, happens when deleting/etc?

Is the failure different when attempting via the Web UI versus via the Desktop client?

What does your Nextcloud log show during these activities?
