I just don't understand Nextcloud 30

Nextcloud version (eg, 29.0.5): 30.0.0

The issue you are facing:
It’s not an error, it’s just the fact I don’t understand how to use any of the new features or where to find them.

I tried Nextcloud Flow … no I search it. I watched the video of HUB 9. It says they show how easy it is, but it was just an advertisment. I found an OCS app with provides data for endpoints …
But where do I find the Flow App with “the windmill”?

Well next I heard about the Nextcloud Assistent … yes … I can’t find it among the apps and I don’t see where it could be activated.

I heard about the AI apps like Text translation. But when I search for that, I can’t find it and the admin center tells me there is no app installed.

So, well I got different instances, only one yet on NC 30. But it’s the first time I totally feel lost with activating features.

Can somebody tell me what I have to do to get those features?

Thanks
Ushur

Fair, you’ll need to start with the

  • admin documentation
  • appstore for whatever extensions are needed to add to Nextcloud.
  • Sadly, none of this is point and click. It will require advanced configuration in addition to strict hardware requirements.

Here is the admin documentation page
Here is the appstore listing. There are others for the various additions.
You can setup an OpenAI account or you’ll need to spin up your own Nextcloud LLM using

  • Nvidia graphics card
  • docker configuration on the server
  • Don’t be surprised if this requires 12gb - 32gb of ram to run. LLM systems are massive, and also require a lot of disk space as well.

This should get you started. Between the admin documentation and appstore you should be able to find everything you need to get started. Use the linked github repos on each app store listing to learn more about particulars and quirks.

Hopefully the documentation will continue to improve.

The app Flow is also not displayed for me in Nextcloud 30.0.0.

I think this is the reason:
Requires AppAPI and webhook_listeners to be enabled to work.

I think it’s great that new apps are being released all the time. A lot is said in videos and a lot of websites are full of content. But I would like to see honest descriptions of what needs to be done so that the apps can actually be used. I would also like to see installation instructions in the form of a video. Thank you.
