Dear all!
After a local crash I want to rebuild my system an setup my nextcloud in the same way as it worked very well before.
After OS setup etc. I installed the Nextcloud client and want it to use the existing well filled sync folder, as this folder is sitting on another disk not broken during the crash. There are 400GB in this folder, so a resync via new download from Server is no option. The data is still synced, there was no change to any files on the server or in the sync folder after the crash.
At the end of the client install process there was a message about “found older client data”, but nothing more. The client icon in the tray only allowed to log in, but there was no active sync setup.
So I choose the log in option. The dialogue for connecting the client to the server popped up. I inserted the url of the server, confirmed the connection on the server page in my browser. The client connected and suggested his default local sync folder. I changed this folder to my existing well filled sync folder and clicked “keep local data”.
I expected the client to take this and start to check the files and compare them with the server files for getting the sync state. But the “connect” button is still greyed and I get an irritating message “Please select another storage location. [my folder] is already in use as sync folder."
Yes, it is already in use and this is just the reason I want to continue to use just this folder with the client!
What am I missing?
Thanks for any help
