How to uncheck folders from being synched

I have installed the Desktop client under Windows but not sure how to deselect certain folders from synching.

I first synched with one of the users in my Nextcloud account, but then realized I would like to synch it with the other one. I deinstalled the desktop client, reinstalled it, wanting to sign in with the other user, however I am unsure how to select the correct folders for the synching.

If the above does not make sense to you, please let me know.

Thank you!

If you are yousing Nextcloud client v3.14 → downgrade to v 3.13.4

Then when you righ-click in Nextcloud icon in tray → Settings you can see possibilities to check/uncheck your folders.

Thank you @vawaver ,

When I open the GitHub page, where is the option do start the download?

I have removed the desktop app from my computer, so starting fresh.

Thanks

In the case you are Windows user - scroll down the page and find package for Windows. You can use Nextcloud-3.13.4-x64.msi

Thank you, this worked well.

In the app I now see the right user, but when I go to the Nextcloud settings (like you did in your screenshot), I see that I am connected to the admin account, but I don`t see any files listed that I could choose from to sync. Just “Add Folder Synch Connection”.

I am sure it is easy to do the next step, but not sure how
Would love some guidance please.

Thank you!

As far as I know, it’s not possible to sync individual files directly.
You can only sync entire folders.
When you see “Add Folder Sync Connection,” you’ll need to select a folder to sync rather than specific files.
I hope this helps!

I am sorry, I meant to write folders…

Ok. I get it.

In the next step, you will first need to select a location on your local disk (your PC or laptop) where the folders and files will be synchronized to.

After that, you should be prompted to choose which folders from the server you want to sync.

Thanks, I have set up the folder on my computer and it says all synched (I chose virtual files), but the folder on my computer is empty. I am logged into my admin user on the Nextcloud website. I am not sure what the issue is other than user error

I did forget to add the screenshot to my post request, here it is attached.

Thank you!

What is a version of your Nextcloud client?

The one you suggested previously: 3.13.4-x64.msi

Thanks

I use the same version on Linux. Works fine. I know you are a Windows user.
Can you try to sync but this time - DO NOT USE virtual files? (uncheck the box)

Thank you for all your suggestions, I did disable virtual file support, and it tells me all is synched. The folder is empty though.

I only recently changed from Mac to Windows and setting up this synch connection is the only thing that stops me from using the new device properly.

I will retry all the steps as I am not sure what else to do…?

Please pause on your reply - something is happening with the synching, I will give you feedback once it was successful.

It´s done - thank you for all your support!

Did you succeed?
Is it working?

Yes, it has something to do with the way in which I created folders, I now know how to do this correctly. Thank you!
