I’ve played a bit with end-to-end encryption and haven’t saved passphrase. Then I’ve decided to disable encryption and then enable it again (this time for production) hoping it will start with new passphrase which I’ll memorize. But it asks to enter passphrase that was given before. This remains even after removing app and installing it again. Also I cannot find any encryption-related files (keys, etc.) nor on client or server. There’s also no relevant tables in database. Where should I look to reset encryption settings (there’s definetely should be entry somewhere that tells that this user enabled e2ee).

You don’t need to write down the mnemonic. You can always view it again on the device where it was created.

But to view it, enncryption on this client should be enabled (so green banner will be shown with buttons to disable it and to view mnemonic - on PC). And I’ve disabled it so I have blue banner with button to enable encryption and it asks for mnemonic.

Now I’ve tried to enable encryption on another client and it enabled it but does not show me mnemonic - the place in dialog where it should be is empty. And when I’m trying to encrypt a folder, it says that encryption is not set up on this device, asks to enable it and if I say OK, nothing happens

Found it! It was in ./data/appdata_[some numbers]/end_to_end_encryption. Deleting this folder allows to generate mnemonic again as I expected (but, of cource, previously encrypted files won’t be available)

In the individual account settings there is a “Reset E2EE” button:

Found it, thanks! It was really in obvious place. Also I’ve found here option to enable E2EE in browser, but it’s almost useless
