How to read other chats while you are in a call in another chat?

How to read other chats while you are in a call in another chat? There is often a need to read a message in one of the chats while you are in a call in another chat.
I use the desktop client (but in the browser everything is the same) “Nextcloud Talk Desktop - Built-in Talk version v20.1.3”.
I saw the feature request, but there is no answer:

Am I right in understanding that there is no such feature? Maybe there is some setting to enable it?

Try just open a new tab…

But it’s not convenient in the browser. And it’s impossible in the desktop app

In the browser, just CTRL+click on a conversation to open it in a new tab.
In Talk Desktop, CTRL+clicking on a conversation also opens it in a new window (I just discovered that).
