One day, I noticed that, when logging into the web interface, Nextcloud asked me (in the location field if I wanted to install the Chrome App. I chose “yes” and have been happily using it ever since.
This has only happened on one computer. Chrome on my other computers do not offer to install it.
Is there a way to manually install it?
No idea what you mean. Chrome has nothing to do with nc.
In a nutshell, Chrome installed ~/Applications/Chrome Apps.localized/Dashboard - Nextcloud.app on my Mac, which is executable.
It can also be found when entering the URL chrome://apps in Chrome.

I am quite sure this is what I have stumbled upon, and you are correct, it’s a Chrome thing and nothing to do with Nextcloud.
