How to install from app store

I have searched the forum for an answer to my question but didn’t find a clear solution.

I have installed Nextcloud on my home server using the Snap package. I can’t figure out how to install additional apps from the app store. Can someone provide specific step by step instructions? Do I need to download and then place the files into specific folders on my server? If so, which folders and how do I find them?

welcome to the Nextcloud community!

  1. Login as admin onto your Nextcloud using a modern browser
  2. Click on your profile icon at the top right corner
  3. A drop down menu will appear
  4. Click at the “+ Apps” link and you will see your app management.

  5. Manage your apps from there, no need to install any apps manually.

To elaborate on previous question; I’ve been searching for facerecognition app which should be available.

Below the link on the nextcloud page

However when I search it on my own hosted nextcloud I cannot find it?

Thanks for your quick response. Today when I logged in to my account I found the app store and the buttons for installing and enabling. I am not sure why it works today. I think it might because yesterday was logged in through the local iP, rather than the public URL. Could that be the reason?

I am using Pagekite for the public URL since I have a homeserver in China and I don’t think dynamic DNS will work.

Hello
I re-installed Nextcloud using Docker on Ubuntu 18.04 server. The app store is not showing again. I don’t know how to get the up store to show up. How do I troubleshoot this problem?

To raise this issue again: I find apps in the app store which I can not find in the Nextcloud “+ Apps” link. Namely I am looking for “vdirsyncer” which is shown in the app store.

Is there any possibility just to show a complete list of the apps in the app store in Nextcloud instead only the one in the directory LHS?

No real idea. But the app vdirsyncer UI is not supported for Nextcloud 25 and on my Nextcloud 25.0.4 it is listed as untested app.

But maybe you can find the app in the app list Tools (left side) at the button or use this link https://cloud.server.tld/settings/apps/tools customized for your Nextcloud url.

Also you can read occ apps command if you have shell access to your Nextcloud.
