I want to auto-upload some doc and music files from mobile to the Nextcloud server, but I can just set the picture and video folders as the auto-sync folder with the Nextcloud. Is there any way to set up auto-upload for other types of files?
I currently choose syncthing to auto-upload files.
In the Auto Upload screen, hit the Three dot menu in the top right corner Set up a custom folder
Any folder you set-up with upload all files to Nextcloud. Please note, it will not do a 2-way sync. It’s only uploading to the server. The Icon on that configuration should be a folder this a star on it.
What exactly do you mean by auto upload screen?
@Andfirst1 The menu in the sidebar in the app: Settings → Auto upload
I have the same issue as the OP (I have the latest Nextcloud android app 3.29.1 on Android 14 on GrapheneOS) - when I add a custom folder it doesn’t see any files except photos and videos. Even when it asks for local folder location and I’m browsing folders to choose, there are “no files” inside each folder.
I think it is because the Nextcloud app asks only for “Photos and videos” permissions, and not to access all files / storage.
… then I think I understand why everyone is switching to syncthing.
But on GrapeheneOS the solution/workaround is to use Storage Scopes, and then it will see all files under any directory that you add as storage scopes. And auto upload works, yaaay!
