How can i receive nextcloud talk messages from a specific user?

I would like to be able to read chat messages using curl Nextcloud Talk. I have read the description in the documentation and tried it out myself. I get the following message every time:

<?xml version="1.0"?> failure 404 Invalid query, please check the syntax. API specifications are here: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/open-collaboration-services.

Can anyone help me?
