How can I disable/hide "Versions"?

I’ve a lot of files shared with other user with numerous changes made to individual files.
Now the user can see every change through the “versions” tab instead I wish it was not possible for him to download this historic.

Is possibile to disable or hide the tab “Versions” for a specific user or group?
(If not) If I disable the app “versions” what happens? … progressive changes to files are no longer saved or instead are saved indefinitely (filling the user’s disk space)?

If you disable the app, no versions of files are saved anymore.

Would be actually reasonable to allow hiding file versions for shares, not sure if this is possible somehow already.

Unfortunately in the documentation I don’t find anything about “hide” option for “versions” or “limited to group”.
