Hello,
Iāve configured an SMTP account in the general settings tab of Nextcloud and successfully tested the setup using the āSend Test Emailā feature ā the test email was delivered correctly.
However, when I use the calendar app on macOS Sequoia to invite someone to a meeting via email, Nextcloud does not send any invitations.
My instance of Nextcloud is hosted by Hetzner (Germany), and Iām using the built-in macOS calendar app via CalDAV.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Tympan
Whether Nextcloud sends emails or not is shown in the log file of the mail server.
If the Hetzner IP address is new, it may be that it is on a blacklist and therefore the emails either end up in the spam folder or are not delivered at all.
You can check this with mxtoolbox.com.
Thank you for your insight.
I checked the mail logs after sending a calendar invitation, but there were no traces of any activity. I also verified the IP address and domain using MXToolbox, and everything appears to be in order.
When I use the default email account associated with my Nextcloud storage (also hosted at Hetzner), email delivery works as expected. However, I would prefer to use a dedicated email address from my own domain, as it appears more professional.
Maybe the Hetzner mx is bouncing as he donāt accept your ādedicatedā mail. This error (bounce) might be visible for the Hetzner Support Team. Is your smtp responsibel for your ādedicatedā Email ?
