Group Folders not syncing to linux desktop

I am using the Group Folders application and the Desktop Linux file synchronization AppImage. None of the Group Folders sync. Any tips on how to sync these folders to desktop clients or debug this issue?

Hi, I was having the same problem. Iā€™m working on a Linux Virtual Machine (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS) from my local Windows machine using MobaXterm.

All of the above is just to give you some context, but itā€™s not really meaningful for solving the problem. :wink:

Regarding the problem itself:

  1. First, run the AppImage.
  2. Once the pop-up window appears, click on your logo (top-left corner) and select ā€˜Settings.ā€™
  3. Another pop-up window will open (this might take a whileā€¦). Under ā€˜Standard file sync,ā€™ all the folders within your server account should appear, including the group folder.
  4. However, the group folder is probably unchecked, and a warning message is displayed saying something like, ā€œSome folders are not synced because of their size or because they belong to external entitiesā€ (or something similar).
  5. If you check the box for your group folder and click ā€˜Apply,ā€™ the folder should sync.
