For home users – Nextcloud says “We believe privacy is a right, a foundation for democracy. And we like to help you get it back.” – sounds awesome. Will you please stop helping Google track me, then?
Your webpage serves a cross-site tracking cookie from YouTube (probably an embedded YouTube video) and trackers from Google AdSense and DoubleClick (probably all just Google stuff).
Will you please remove this tracking? Maybe there’s something local-only / free software you could use instead of Google?
Agreed: https://help.nextcloud.com (their Discourse forum server) doesn’t serve the same trackers as https://nextcloud.com/athome/ (this looks like Wordpress). I can’t say I’m surprised though–these two services may be run by different people.
I suppose it’s because of the embedded Youtube-video. I was shocked to see something similar on my own tracker-free website as well.
There are some ways to embedd them more privacy-friendly, among others by displaying the embedded video first after asking for consent as public service German news site as tagesschau etc do
