The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • 30.0.5 aio docker

Summary of the issue you are facing:

File paths are truncated in the unified search dialog.
It makes it hard to distinguish between multiple files…

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. search for text that occurs in PDFs that have long nested paths.

Like for other sections of the search results (Files or as seen in your screenshot with Notes), Filename or Topic should be separated from path.
Fulltextsearch is barely maintained (if you have a look at github, you’ll see that there are just changes to keep it somehow working with the latest Nextcloud releases. No reactions to bug reports (at least not from developers).
