FormulaBase 0.7.0: 2,400 new formula templates — help testing them is very welcome

Hello everyone,

FormulaBase 0.7.0 is now on the App Store.

Thank you for the downloads, and for the comments on apps.nextcloud.com saying the app is useful. No problems were reported up to 0.6.2, so for this release I kept the way the app works the same and added much more content: new formulas and new functions.

What is new in 0.7.0

  • 2,400 new formula templates (5,522 in all): number theory, finance and accounting, AI and machine learning, physics, chemistry and engineering, medicine, statistics and biology.
  • Templates grouped into 13 fields, each with subcategories, with related fields next to each other.
  • Template settings (Settings → Template settings): untick a field, a subcategory or a single template to hide it. Hidden templates do not appear in the list or in search.
  • A much more capable formula engine: lists, matrices and complex numbers; if() and piecewise(); sums, products, integrals, derivatives and solve(); more than 200 functions in all, including statistics, cash flows, number theory, special functions and probability distributions.

Translation: the templates added in this release are translated into English and Japanese only so far. In other languages they are shown in English until the translations are added in a later version.

I would be grateful for your help

There are now far too many formulas for me to debug on my own. I have not tested every formula myself, so reports from you, the people actually using them, are very important to me.

If you find a wrong formula, a bad default value, a mistranslation or a missing unit, please tell me in this thread or open an issue on GitHub. One line is enough.

I hope my apps make as many people as possible a little happier.
