I’m a Nextcloud admin managing a server with ~30 users and 8TB of data. A few months ago our server became completely unresponsive because a user accidentally moved a 300GB GroupFolder through the web interface — load average spiked to 25 and the server was down for everyone.
I couldn’t find any existing solution to prevent this, so I built an app: Folder Protection.
It allows admins to protect specific folders from being moved, copied, or deleted — preventing these accidents before they happen.
