I installed the docker image of nextcloud and attempted to setup external storage, but when I did none of the directories passed through showed inside of nextcloud.

Can you access /2TB from within the container itself (via a docker compose exec or equivalent for your environment)?
Usually it’s either the volume isn’t really mounted in the container, folder/file ownership isn’t reasonable, or folder/file permissions aren’t reasonable.
Also, the Nextcloud logs may have some hints.
