Getting help
In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.
Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:
- Official documentation (searchable and regularly updated)
- How to topics and FAQs
- Forum search
(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).
Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isnât supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can. ![]()
The Basics
- Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
33.0.2.2
- Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
unRAID 7.2.2
- Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
unknown - how do I check?
- Reverse proxy and version _(e.g. nginx 1.27.2)
Pangolin 1.17.0
- PHP version (e.g, 8.3):
8.3.30
- Is this the first time youâve seen this error? (Yes / No):
yes
- When did this problem seem to first start?
When I started using Nextcloud AIO
- Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
AIO Docker on unRAID server
- Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
No
Summary of the issue you are facing:
I recently migrated from the Linuxserver.io Nextcloud container to the official Nextcloud AIO installation on my unRAID server. I had previously set up a share called nextcloud on my unRAID server for the old containerâs data, for AIO I created shares called nextcloud-aio and nextcloud-aio-backup with duplicate settings.
When I had AIO configured, I then put the old LSIO Docker instance in Maintenance Mode, recreated the user accounts on the AIO instance, copied the data to my nextcloud-aio share, and ran an OCC scan command to scan the files in. Everything eventually showed up, so I thought I was all set.
However, now, when a user tries to create, edit, or delete files in any of the directories that got copied over, they get denied access to do so. I can create/edit/delete files from any other directories, but not from the ones that got copied over, so I suspect the file permissions are messed up somehow. Iâd really rather not have to reupload the content by hand as that will be a tremendous amount of work, so there has to be a way to reset the fileâs permissions.
