Files corrupted after using nextcloud?

Operating system: Windows 10

I work on two different laptops and use nextcloud to synchronize the files.
Now several of my word files look like this:

And I also cant open several pictures and pdf`s because they are corrupted. Never encountered that before using nextcloud…

Any tips?

To me it looks like your files have been encrypted by a software and now you try to open them without decrypting them. Are only your files which you store inside the nextcloud affected? Can you restore old versions of the files?
I found this old bug from owncloud: https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/3554

maybe its the same bug?

As far as I understand it, nextcloud is encrypting the files. I dont use any encryption tools.
It looks like, that this only happend to one specific folder. Word documents in other folders seem unaffected as far as I can see it (roughly 330 gb data)…

It might be connected to the bug but I cant read the file via desktop client nor webinterface.

How do i restore old versions?
