File Sharing Not Working

Running Nextcloud Hub 8 29.0.6 via linuxserver docker container with separate MariaDB instance.

I am having issues with sharing. Other users cannot see new folders shared with them. Old folders shared show as a file instead of a folder and cannot be opened.

I have disabled and re-enabled the File Sharing App. I tried the occ repair share command, but the suggestions were completely wrong. It was saying users that don’t have any shares at all should be the owners of unrelated shares…

Any suggestions appreciated as this is a pretty critical feature. Thank you.

Can you elaborate? Maybe a screenshot?

You’ll need to provide more context:

  • Were these working before? If so, what’s changed since then?
  • We need to see the exact error messages

Also please check Administration settings->Overview and see if you have any warnings or errors there.

If you did a major version upgrade (e.g. 28->29) also check your LSIO container startup logs for any warnings about outdated config files.

Yes, this was working before. I reinstalled the client on the Mac using the virtual folder installer. I also moved the db from a docker container to a dedicated VM.

You can see in the activity that I shared the folder, but then when I go to the sharing settings, it says no one has access.

I will try to also get a picture of the shares not showing on the client.
