I recently encountered what could possibly be a configuration case not implemented with Nextcloud Notes (android).
I run GrapheneOS and created a new user (isolated from the default one).
I have both Nextcloud sync and Nextcloud Notes installed.
The issue I have encountered is with adding of pictures in rich edit mode.
With the Nexcloud client it works fine, clicking on the upload button brings up the menu etc.
With the Nextcloud Notes client, the upload button is not responsive, the pictures are not displayed in preview mode. The only way pictures are displayed is when going in rich edit mode.
Interested to know what could the issue be ?
