Since installing a Nextcloud solution for a small NGO operating in a Mac environment., intermittently - across several Nextcloud server and desktop vfs client versions - individual folders or the whole server will stop syncing. That is, changes on the server are not reflected on the desktop. Sometimes this can be resolved by renaming a directory. Others times it is necessary to unlink and relink the account (which, it seems, risks loosing any local changes that have not been synced up to the server). Granted that a resolution to the underlying problems is desirable, it would be nonetheless useful for users to be able to force a reindex/review of individual directories from the Finder.
I’m not a Mac user myself, but if you scroll through the forum a little or search through the GitHub issues, there seem to be various problems with VFS on macOS, and I think this “feature request” would be more of a workaround to circumvent more fundamental problems.

Hi bb77,
Yes, I’m familiar with the scope of the issue, and indeed I do make a request for a workaround as in interim measure. As it stands I’ll have to go back to a standard sync of data for users because too much time is being wasted trying to work out what has happened to people’s work/documents. Standard sync in this instance means 30+ people downloading and syncing 50-odd-gig of mostly unnecessary data, not impossible, but a total waste of resources.
