    • YES
  • When did this problem seem to first start?

    • AIO

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I have a folder called pictures attached via “External storage” to my nextcloud.
It’s a folder managed by Unraid on the same server as nextcloud runs.

3 Weeks a go I saw that nextcloud desktop clients start to re-sync over and over aigan the this exact External storage folder.
When I check the External storage on the nextcloud web I can see that sometime the modifed data is correct (the same as when I “ls” the folder within the unraid server) sometimes it is completly off.
Sometimes the External storage folder is even empty and after a few minutes the folders inside the picture folder is populated again.
it is really random I can’t figure out why
The external storage folder can be accessed via SMB without any problem however nextcloud seems to have a problem handling the folder. It contains around 120’000 files.

Any Idea why this does now happen?

Andy

You are not writing which client you are using to sync your pictures? IOS, Android, Windows, Linux?

I use one Windows client and 2 Linux clients.
So on those 3 PCs regardless of OS it behaves like this. Its most likely not a client issue since I wrote that when I check nextcloud directly from the browser I can see that folders in the SMB attached external storage do disappear and reappear at random time.

ok i will open a bug report for this since it worked for several years but stopped working 4 weeks ago
