Summary of the issue you are facing:
We have several external storage shares added from a windows server 2016 fileserver over SMB. Recently, subfolders of a few of these shares became empty in nextcloud, showing 0KB on their size. On the file server said files are still present.
The only temporary fix so far is to delete the external storage and readd this, but after a while the issue comes back gradually, folder per folder.
Logs show nothing related to this issue.
I found a few posts here with similar issues, I tried OCC Files:scan for specific users and -all but this did not help. I did see that the offending subfolders were not scanned by this command.
some other people noted reinstalling was their fix. But i’d like to avoid this if possible as it’s been deployed for our customers for a few years now, issues only started last week.
