External Sites with Nextcloud 31.0.0

[details=“Support intro”]
I have a fresh install of 31.0.0 with External Sites add-on. Nextcloud generally works as expected and External Sites works as expected, except I cannot upload icons to External Sites. The file picker is displayed. I can select a file to upload. Then nothing happens. No upload. No error messages or log entries. I had no problems with previous Nextcloud and External Sites versions. Could be a new bug? Could be me?

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • 31.0.0
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Debian 12 (bookworm)
  • Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
    • Apache 2.4.57
  • Reverse proxy and version _(e.g. nginx 1.27.2)
    • ``
  • PHP version (e.g, 8.3):
    • 8.2.26
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
    • yes
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • after installing (new, not an upgrade) Nextcloud 31.0.0 and External Sites
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
    • `’
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • `No’

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Not able to upload External Sites icon. The uploaded icon would be made available to replace the External Sites default icon to display in the menu.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Install Nextcloud 31.0.0.
  2. Install External Sites from app store.
  3. Go to Admin Settings, External Sites, attempt to upload new icon.

I have the exact same problem. New install of 31.0.0 and I cannot upload any icon. Window will show up, I select an icon file, hit OK and then nothing happens.
