I’am providing for us a nextcloud installation.
We are using TOTP to login into nextcloud.
Now I ran a test. Uploaded some data and after upload (took around a hour) I closed the browser session without logging out.
After 5 Minutes I opened it again and the nextcloud still was reachable.
Is it really necessary to logout?
Is there an option, which can provide this:

  • Close the tab or complete Browser --> Login into nextcloud is asked again.

YES, logout is nescesary.

This is unfortunatly the way totp/U2F works with my chrome/firefox
