Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Hello, I am having a similar issue to imneedham, from his post he started in Nov 2024. I get the “Error occurred while checking server setup” message during the scan. Error appears after 1 minute of checking. This did not occur after an upgrade, I recently changed my Unraid flash drive to a new one but right before this started happening (I believe) I enabled the two-factor TOTP Provider app in Nextcloud. This app is working fine, as is the rest of Nextcloud. I’ve read raising the timeout value and clearing out the Nginx cache can help, but I don’t have a cache folder. I’m not sure where to start looking…

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Go to Nextcloud web > Admin settings > Overview
  2. Wait one minute.
  3. Error message appears.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

The error suggests that the Nextcloud container is unable to reach the configured overwrite.cli.url nor any of your configured trusted_domains.

May want to review those in your config and do some testing from inside the container using curl.
