Encryption passwords app

In the app, click on “More” > “Apps & Extensions” and check out the apps which are marked with “Strong Encryption”. There is no official Android/iOS app, but some do support e2e.
Otherwise click on “More” > “Handbook” and read out the article about Enabling End-to-End-Encryption.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I just started using the Passwords app on Nextcloud 28.0.5 (on premise, my own server) and when I enable the “Show technical details” in one entry I see this:

Based on what I read here, I was not expecting to see “No encryption” on the server. Why is it so?

The screenshot shows that encrytption is already applied on the client. In that case, the server does not apply any additional encryption. The client side encryption is stronger than the server side encryption, so applying that as well does nothing. But it will make the app slower and increase load on the server.

You can configure the app to apply it anyway.

Thankyou @mdw for your reply.
BTW, the UI warns me that as soon as I share an entry, client encryption will be disabled. Will server encryption kick in automatically in those cases?

Yes, shared passwords will use server side encryption
