Email notification on file upload

I know this has been covered before but I’m struggling to get something working on a clean, fresh install of NC 26.

The closest I’ve found was this post: Email notification after upload to a file drop folder - #5 by andrewhotlab but I can’t seem to get it working.

I don’t know if it’s because despite tagging the folder, all files uploaded into are not tagged. I did see a post suggesting the retention-parent tag should be used on the folder, but this doesn’t seem to affect any files subsequently uploaded.

If someone has this working with NC 26, could you please provide a step-by-step procedure on how to set it up.

There are two settings you will have to consult:

  • First is the setting to be notified in regards to file upload by email.
  • Second is WHEN Nextcloud is to send out notifications. This one can be hourly, daily, weekly, and so on.

Maybe you are better of with a workflow for notification? There is a workflow (flow) app for this:

However I am not sure if you can make the system send emails triggered by the event…
